A comfortable country gîte in a peaceful rural setting, bordering the Canal du Midi and close to the sandy Languedoc beaches.
The Domaine de Saint Joseph, built in 1827, is situated on farmland bordering the Canal du Midi right next to an unique three-arched bridge called 'Les Trois Yeux' (The Three Eyes). It is surrounded by vines - and wheat fields and is close to the towns of Vias and Agde. In one wing of the Domaine there are three new aircondioned gîtes. Next to the old winery there are two new chalets.
The swimming pool (5.8 x 3.8 m) is next to a patch of fruit trees some 30m from the gîtes. Please note that there is no lifeguard! The Domaine is securely fenced with a remote-controlled electric gate.
In the courtyard of the Domaine there is a wash-house with communal washing machine and internet connection (ethernet), there is a barbecue with its own terrace and outdoor furniture and a table-tennis table.
It is possible to order bread and croissants in the evening for delivery next morning.

Gîte 2 is on the first floor. It has a splendid view over the fields for many miles.
Both gîtes have a new build-in kitchen with oven and microwave, a living room with a sofa bed, radio + CD player and TV, 1 bedroom with double bed, bathroom, toilet. The gîtes have hot air heating, as well as oil heating for winterrentals. Nice terraces with garden furniture and lots of flowers. The gîtes are no smoking insite.

Fredrik has worked in tourism in the region (Beach Club with water sports) for more than 28 years and lives on the Domaine for eight years now. He will be able to answer any questions that you have. In addition he can organize sea trips on his 13 meter sailing yacht 'Sea Rocker'.
You can fish in the Canal du Midi right next to the Domaine, or in the River Hérault, Lac Salagou or at sea. Superb biking and mountain biking routes are at hand with bike rental at Vias. Other activities include canoeing/kayaking, go-carting, rambling, tennis, archery and water sports at Vias or Cap d'Agde. There are several golf courses nearby (Cap d'Agde, Béziers, Montpellier, etc.).

FURTHER INFORMATION: How to get there?
By car: take autoroute A9 (la Languedoccienne), exit 34 (Bessan, Vias, Pézenas), direction Bessan-Agde, route D13. Pass through Bessan, once in Agde follow the road right past the railway station, follow the signs to Vias, route D 912, once on this road take the first right. Follow the Domaine signposts. Coming by the new bridge in Milau, you pass Pezenas, Direction Bessan. The rest is the same.
By plane: Fly Bristol - Beziers / Cap d'Agde. We pick you up. Airport Montpellier 50 minutes. Carcassonne just over an hour.
