There are 2 swimming pools (one for each gite, please note that pools available from end of May until end of September outside of these dates at owners discretion), fishing lakes, and for the more energetic a tennis court,full size pool table, bikes, table tennis, badmington, boules and plenty of space for football, cricket and rounders. There is also a childrens play area. A good selection of DVDs etc can be supplied, these and all of the above facilities are COMPLIMENTARY! Bedlinen is also included in the price but please bring your own towels. If needed highchairs and cots can be provided at no charge.
Hunters Retreat is in a small hamlet "Le Claray" 4kms from the picturesque village of St Aubin des Chateaux, which has all the amenities you would want; Mini Market, bar, chemist, post office, bakers, butchers, brocante to browse in, there is also an equestrian centre nearby for the more adventerous. Just 5 minutes from Le Claray is a superb lake - Hunaudiere, with a great creperie and bar so that you can sit by the lake with a crepe and a beer and just relax.
The historic town of Chateaubriant is just 12 kms away, Nantes, Redon are approximately 45mins drive away. The coast - La Baule etc, is approximately 1 hour away.
The Lodge has a cooker, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, excellent selection of china and utensils, english television, DVD player and music system, together with a selection of DVD's and CD's which are available on request. Theres everything you need for a perfect holiday.
Downstairs there is a Lounge, with Englsh television,DVD player, Cd player kitchen/diner with woodburning stove, leading onto its own covered patio for outside eating all weathers, overlooking private swimming pool (approx 27 ftx 12 ft) with sunloungers (available end of May until end of September).
Upstairs there are 2 large double bedrooms and a twin bedroom,all with wardrobes,chest of drawers etc and a family bathroom with over head shower.theres also a shower room ,toilet and sink downstairs

Discover the refined, French gastronomy in lovely surroundings of the Hostellerie de la Ferriere in Chateaubriant, where the menus start as little as 20 Euros for a delicious 3 course meal.
St. Aubin des Chateaux is ideally situated to explore nearby lakes with man-made beaches, travel to the coast (about an hours drive) and visit the ancient market towns and the numerous wine sellers in the Loire.
We have plenty of bicycles for you to use, perhaps cycling down a quiet road to visit our local creperie which is set at the side of a very large lake, where you could park the bike, go for a walk and return to the creperie for a wonderful, traditional french crepe.

A deposit of £2oo (per week)to secure reservations is required. A 'Good housekeeping*' deposit of 100 pounds per week is required before arrival, this will be refunded one week after departure less any costs (if any) incurred. *'Good housekeeping' charge is to ensure that the cottage contents are left in a clean and tidy condition. Any breakages, spills on furniture/bedding to be notified to owner immediately.
